Parliament will reconvene on Monday after a week long postpone in line with the Government’s lockdown due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the Country.

“The public is hereby advised that Parliament will meet on Monday 31 January, 2022 at 9:30am.

On the agenda of Parliament is the deliberation of the First Supplementary for Financial Year 2021-2022 in the amount of $21 million tala.

Under the proposed budget the Government allocated $9.5 million in support of the COVID-19 assistance.

The public notice says that in adherence to National State of Emergency Orders, all Government Ministries and State Owned Enterprises attending the Parliament’s sitting are advised to limit attending representatives to one person only.

On Friday, Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata’afa declared that Samoa’s level threat will be reduced to level two from three and appealed to the public to adhere the State of Emergency Orders.
