The Minister of Police and Prisons, stands by the decision of the Police Tribunal to demote the former Captain of the Nafanua, Taito Sefo Hunt from Police Superintendent to Corporal, after being found guilty of three counts of negligence.
Hunt captained the $30 million tala Nafanua that ran aground in Savaii last year.
Faualo Harry Schuster says the demotion in rank is quite significant for anyone in the police force.

The Minister also noted that he’s yet to meet with the Australian Government that gifted the $30 million tala “Guardian Class Patrol Boat, on their views of the penalty levelled against the former Captain.
