The Samoa Tourism Authority says the only way to reopen the Country’s borders is Samoa’s vaccination count reaches 90 percent of the eligible population.

Chief Executive Officer Faamatuainu Suifua Lenata’i said its still risky with only 80 percent of the eligible population fully vaccinated.

He added that until that mark is reached, Samoa’s options are limited.

The STA has implemented an internal policy for their staff to be fully vaccinated in order to work.

In the meantime, the data from the Ministry of Health says that more than 80,000 of the eligible population have been fully vaccinated with Astrazeneca while 17,800 people are fully vaccinated with Pfizer.
