The Public Service Commission was served with a search warrant by the Ministry of Police, to release former CEO's file.

Dated 21, January 2022 the search warrant is in relation to the criminal libel complaint filed by the former Chief Executive Officer, of the Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration (MJCA) Papali’i John Taimalelagi against Loabay media outlet alleging they defamed his character over sexual harassment claims.

Obtained by Radio Polynesia, the search warrant was sworn in by Police Constable, Tasi Matafeo and signed by District Court Registrar Tofilau Shamilla Leavai.

The warrant seeks to obtain documents to confirm that the complaint was filed by the Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration (MJCA) against the former CEO, Papalii; also to uplift any records or documents of investigation proceeding alleging sexual harassment.

“Furthermore for the police] to uplift any documents provided by any persons involved including victims and witnesses and uplifts outcomes of results of investigations.”

In August last year, Papali’i lodged an official complaint with the Police against the owner of Loabay, Gago Fau Gago who allegedly made defamatory posts, accusing him of "sexually abusing" women from the Ministry while he was Chief Executive Officer.

Radio Polynesia reached out Acting Police Commissioner, Leiataualesa Samuelu Afamasaga and PSC Commissioner, Lauano Vaosa Epa for comments over the weekend.

However there has been no immediate response.

In 2019, Papalii's contract as CEO was terminated by Cabinet as per recommendations by the Public Service Commission.
