Cabinet has terminated the contract for Chief Executive of the Ministry of Education Sports and Culture, Afamasaga Dr Karoline Fuata’i.
This was confirmed by a Cabinet Minister who did not wished to be named.
Afamasaga’s contract ended last month, however it was extended for another six months while the Public Service Commission conducts the normal process for advertising the CEO position.
It is unclear as to what prompted Cabinet to terminate the services for the MESC CEO as efforts by Radio Polynesia to get comments from were unsuccessful.
Earlier this month, the Public Service Commissioner advertised the CEO positions including the Ministry of Education Sports and Culture and the due date is set on 11 March 2022by 5pm and that late and incomplete applications will not be considered.
In other news from the FAST Cabinet, they will reshuffle the Associate Ministers portfolio which will be announced tomorrow, as well as the swearing of new Associate Ministers.
This was confirmed by the Chairman of FAST, Minister Laauli Leuatea Schmidt in response to questions from Radio Polynesia.
He said the reshuffling of Associate Ministers and appointing of new Associate Ministers is the decision solely dedicated to Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata’afa.
