Fata Brian Kaio has been appointed as Consul General to Samoa’s Consul office in American Samoa.

He replaces Manogimanu Fonoti Etuale whose term has ended. These changes will be effective soon.

This was revealed in a confidential Cabinet Directive21-50dated 22 December, 2021.

Manogiimanu was first appointed in 2018.

Fata has extensive senior leadership and management experience over the years in the Samoa government’s. In 2018 Fata served as theDeputy High Commissioner at the Samoa High Commission in Canberra, Australia.

Last year Fata was one of the recipients of the prestigious Chevening Scholarship, to undertake Masters studies the Oxford University in the United Kingdom.

Fata recently returned to Samoa, after his studies.

In addition Cabinet approved a six month extension for Samoa’s High Consuls in Wellington, Auckland and Sydney Australia.

Furthermore the Cabinet directive points out the deferring of discussions of the responsibilities and the naming of the position for Counsel of Trade.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade to look into having Consul of Trade for the American Samoa high Commission as well as Samoa’s High Commission office in China.
