The Ministry of Police and Prisons are awaiting a report from one of the Judges hence the delay in the criminal investigation into suspended Police Prosecutor Kenneth Komiti over allegations of misconduct.

This is according to the Ministry of Police and Prisons Acting Commissioner Leiataualesa Samuelu Afamasaga in response to questions from Radio Polynesia.

Police Inspector Komiti was placed on suspension last year October, over claims he allegedly altered police documents.

This is in connection to a drunk driving case for a successful businessman that is pending before the District Court.

“As it stands, the investigation by the Police Professional Standard Unit is ongoing and the Inspector inquisition remains on suspension,” he said.

Komiti, was the Commanding Officer for the Police Prosecution and has been working out of the Attorney General’s office for over 10 years.

As reported earlier, last year, Komiti was suspended in relation to the handling of a firearm at the center of a criminal case before the court at the time.

However he was reinstated a month later.
