A day after Samoa reduced its threat level to 2 from three more COVID-19 cases has been confirmed, including a four year old child. This is addition to the nine month old baby tested positive last week.

To date the Ministry of Health says the total of COVID-19 positive cases are now 30.

The MOH statement noted that following the implementation of its regular test schedule for all persons in quarantine three new positive cases have been identified from among the passengers including a 4 year old child.

The total number of positive cases is 30 and all remain asymptomatic.

All frontline workers in quarantine other than the 5 nurses at the Isolation unit in Moto’otua Hospital continue to return negative cases after their third round of testing.

Currently there is no evidence of a community transmission.
