The Catholic Church has lost a pillar in its denomination with the passing of well known Priest Muliau Matulino Stowers, over the weekend in New Zealand.

He was 47.

Social media has been flooded with tributes and condolence messages for Father Muliau and his family.

Known for his bold humour, Muliau was a straight shooter and did not mince words when conducting a sermon or teaching.

Father Muliau served with the Apia district; and also conducted a weekly program on the Catholic TV on Tuesdays.

Father Pio Galuemalemana told Nofoilo Media that Father Muliau was born on 17 January, 1975 17 and started his service in 2004.

From the villages of Vailele and Fasito'outa, Father Muliau attended Marist Brothers and proceeded to St Joseph College and furthered his studies inFiji at the Pacific Regional Seminary.

Father Muliau passed away when he was working out of the Leauva'a District and also served as President of the Catholic Youth and was also a lecturer at the Catechist Academy in Moamoa.
