Marine Advisory remains in force for all marine and coastal waters.

This is the latest from the weather office, the intense high-pressure system slowly approaching the islands from the North is expected to impact Samoa’s coastal to marine waters within the next 12-24 hours.

Strong winds associated with this system will possibly increase wind waves and northerly swells up to two feet or more for all of Samoa’s marine waters. Therefore, the Marine Advisory remains in force for all marine and coastal waters.

Last week the The Government activated its evacuation sites as Samoa continues to experience severe weather conditions due to the location of an active convergence zone in the vicinity of Samoa.

These evacuation sites are located at the NUS compound at Vaivase, the ADRA SDA Hall at Lalovaea, Gym 2 and the Multipurpose Gym at Tuanaimato.

The public is advised to ensure the safety and protection of families especially the children, elderlies and those with special needs."
