The Faatuatua wile Atua Samoa ua Tasi Administration is walking the talk in efforts to mitigate the effects of climate change by switching to electrical vehicles.

This week, in a statement issued by the Minister of Works Transport and Infrastructure, Mi, Olo Fiti Vaai said this mark its the first campaign in promoting of Electrical Vehicles in Samoa.

The Energy Sector through the Electric Power Corporation piloted a project by bringing on electric vehicles to assess its feasibility for Samoa, with the aim to mitigate the effects of climate change.

The theme of the launching is: "Sustainable Transportation through the introduction to Electric Mobility."

Olo also congratulated the Ford Hyundai Company for winning the tender to procure the vehicles for thesaid project.

He also acknowledged the financial support from all sponsors: Pacific Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (PCREEE) and the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) along with the Energy Sector colleagues for coordinating and hosting the event.

The Minister also extended his appreciation to the continuous support from government Ministries, Corporations, NGOs and the private sector who made the event possible.
