Friedriech Arp has been named as Radio Polynesia’s employee of the year for 2021.

The achievement was acknowledged during the company’s end of the year party held at Taumeasina Island Resort.

Also acknowledged are the long service employees; Alavisi Sale and Fonomaitu Vani Tufuga who have been with the company for over 20 years.The newsroom, led by Leilua Amese Tanielu was also acknowledged.

Owned by the Late Mapusua Rudolf Keil, its now managed by Olga and Mapusua Korey Keil.

Radio Polynesia was established in 1989, and it consists of four Radio Stations from it’s Savalalo Headquarters in Apia.

Mr Arp started in 2018 as a sales representative, however after one year, his career elevated to becoming one of radio polynesia’s disc jockey and radio announcer.

Blue Aiono and Gloria Takazawa were the organisers of the event which was attended by former Police Commissioner Fuiavaili’ili Egon Keil, the Chief Executive Officer of TV3, Nathan Keil, family and staff of the radio station.

Mapusua during the ceremony commended the staff for their work through out the year and Mr Arp, for stepping out of his comfort zone.

He also made a special mention of Blue for putting together all the prizes, thanks to sponsors, such as McKenzie, Tanoa, Digicel, Vodafone, Lava Hotel, Peata salon and Mailelani.

This year saw a number of changes to the radio station with Radio Polynesia, aside from the launching of its news website on radiopolynesialtd.com.

Radio Polynesia is now available on the Digicel’s goLoud App on PlayStore and Apple, which can be downloaded for free and you can stream live.

The five radio stations for choosing ranges from Talofa FM with that targeted audience of all ages and it operates on three different frequencies, 88.5 / 99.9 / 91.5; which maximises the coverage across Samoa. There’s also Malo FM on 105.3 which is bilingual; Magik FM 98.1/89.5 - and its Samoa’s top 40 station, catering to the younger listeners.

Star FM 96.1 FM plays a lot of music from the ‘70’s & ‘80’s, 90’s and hits of today; while K-LITE FM 101.1 caters to those that enjoy listening to music from the 1920’s, to easy listening hits of today.
