This week, the Governments of Samoa and New Zealand celebrated 60 years of friendship in a ceremony held at the New Zealand's High Commissioner’s residence.

Dr. Trevor Matheson’s said the Treaty of Friendship depicts a unique relationship between the two Countries over the past six decades have built a special bilateral partnership that is collaborative, complementary and tolerant.

The event was well attended by diplomatic corps, Cabinet Ministers, the media and Government officials.

Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata’afa said this year is quite significant and a milestone year for Samoa as the country celebrates its 60th anniversary of Independence it also acknowledges60 years of the Treaty of Friendship between the two Countries.
