The release of drug defendant Rodney Crichton out on bail by the Court Registrar late last year has come under scrutiny of the Ministry of Police.

Mr Crichton was arrested and charged following a drug raid in Vaitele in December, where Police found methamphetamine or ice; marijuana joints and drugs paraphernalia, as the result of a search warrant executed on Friday afternoon.

On Wednesday during the press conference Auapa’autold the media, that Crichton was released by the Court Registrar out on bail and they had already addressed their concerns with the Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration.

Radio Polynesia reached out to MCJA Chief Executive Officer, Moliei Simi Vaai but there has been no response.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Police urged Mr Crichton to turn himself in as they have an order from the Attorney General’s office to take him back into the custody of Police.

He said that Crichton was at the Vaigaga residence they raided on Wednesday, and warned they will not stop until they find him.
