Member of Parliament for Faleata No3, Lealailepule Rimoni Aiafi has been removed from Parliament for a period of 24 hours, over claims he violated Standing Orders.

This follows a motion in Parliament today, upon concerns raised by Speaker of the House, Li’o Papalii Taeu Masipa’u that Leala has been publicly addressing issues that is pending before Parliament which goes against Standing Orders of Parliament.

This in relation to a report tabled in Parliament of their investigation into the three controversial bills, which the Legislative Clerk uncovered a number of discrepancies.

The Speaker claims that Leala has publicly laid allegations; the main reason the investigation was launched is to do harm to the Human Rights Protection Party.

However the Speaker said the report is pending before Parliament and cannot be discussed publicly until it is deliberated in Parliament, in a later time.

Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Toelupe Poumulinuku Onesemo Falealili No. 1 took the floor and made the motion which was second to remove MP Leala from Parliament premises.

A Senior Member of Parliament from the HRPP Leala has been ordered to stay away from Parliament’s compound for 24 hours.

He attempted to make a statement, however the Speaker of the House refused.

Radio Polynesia contacted Leala for comments, but he's yet to return the calls.
