Suspended Police Constable, Sialele Mala Tapu has been charged with obtaining by deception.
This over claims she took money for passports and police reports for those applying for the Recognised Seasonal Employment scheme.
Its alleged that she also uplifted payments from people who were subjected to warrants of committal for unpaid loans.
The charge was confirmed Assistant Police Commissioner, Papalii Efo Moalele in response to questions from Radio Polynesia.
Its alleged that Sialelei kept the money for her personal use.
Papalii added that more charges will be filed in this case but the obtaining by deception is the holding charge in the meantime.
The police claims the scheme occurred over the period of 11 months, before a complaint was lodged with the Police against the Constable.
Sialele is remanded out on bail with conditions that she signs twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday before 4pm at the Faleata Outpost, said Papalii.
She is scheduled to appear in the Supreme Court on the 14 of February.
