Cabinet has approved to resume commercial flights between the two Samoas.

This was confirmed by Minister of Samoa Airways, Leatinu’u Wayne So’oialo in an interview with Radio Polynesia at his office.

The Minister said they are awaiting a report from the Minister of Works, Transport and Infrastructure on the re-open of the Fagalii Airport, which was closed by the previous Administration due to violation of Airport standards and claims this is a gateway being used to smuggle drugs in the Country.

He added the travelling public the health advisory remains in effect.

However American Samoa's latest State of Emergency indicates the ban on the issuance of entry permits for foreigners.
