Passengers who arrived in Samoa, and frontline workers who cleared the flight from Auckland on Sunday 6th March 2022, were tested yesterday after their sixth day in quarantine.
The results came back last night with one new positive case.
This case is a health worker who was part of the health team that ran swabs for passengers upon arrival at Faleolo Airport.
The health worker was in quarantine since Sunday and had a negative test result on the third day.
The worker has been transferred to the isolation ward at Motootua and is well and asymptomatic.
This case has increased the number of positive COVID19 cases in managed isolation to 13.
All remain asymptomatic.
"We remind the public, especially those who have not done or completed their two shots of AstraZenega, Pfizer, and booster shots to please do so.
"The pediatric vaccination for chidren from 5-11 years old will continue next week, and is expected to cover all pre-schools and primary schools around the country at the end of May."
