The police are continuing its investigation into the alleged misconduct of Police Inspector, Kenneth Komiti, placed on suspension over claims he allegedly altered police documents.

This is in connection to a drunk driving case for a successful businessman, that is pending before the District Court.

Acting Police Commissioner Auapaau Logoitino Filipo told Radio Polynesia they have yet to finalise this matter.

“As it stands, the investigation by the Police Professional Standard Unit is ongoing and the Inspector inquisition remains on suspension,” he said.

Komiti, a Commanding Officer for the Police Prosecution and has been working out of the Attorney General’s office for over 10 years.

He’s accused of allegedly amending police records in relation to a businessman that appeared in court for a charged of Drunk Driving.

Last year, Komiti was suspended in a separate matter relating to the handling of a firearm at the center of a criminal case before the court at the time.

However he was reinstated a month later.
