Assistant Electoral Commissioner, Afualo Darryl Mapu has entered a plea of not guilty to the criminal charges filed against him, through his lawyer, Tofilau Leone Su’a-Mailo.

This is in relation to a drug raid at Afualo’s residence in Nu’u last December.

This matter was presided over by Supreme Court Justice Niaava Mata Keli Tuatagaloa yesterday morning.

Hearing is now set heard together with his female co-defender, Marie Fanueli on 7 June 2022.

According to the charging document the pair are jointly charged with possession of narcotics whereas five baggies of methamphetamine or ice, weighing at 1.6 grams was discovered; possession of utensils in relation to two glass pipes commonly use to smoke ice; possession of unlawful weapon ; a 9 millimeter pistol; 22 pistol semi-automatic; 22 pistol revolver; magnum pistol revolver.

Other charge is possession of unregistered firearms of a gauge shot gun and 22 rifle semi-automatic; possession of unlawful live ammunitions and possession of ammunition without permit.
