At the moment there is no tropical cyclone upon Samoa. This was confirmed by a staff at the meteorology office this morning.

The staff member however referred to the latest weather update issued at 5am, which states there is an there active convergence zone with embedded heavy downpours and gusty winds remains within the vicinity of the islands to the Southwest.

This broad convective cloud-band would again increase unsettling and unstable weather conditions for today bringing scattered rain, heavy falls and thunderstorms likely.

Expect fresh to strong and gusty Northerly winds.

Easing conditions are to be expected for Wednesday as the convergence zone will relocate southwest of the group.

The bad weather also disrupted the ferry trips since Monday.

The Samoa Shipping Corporation says due to the bad weather conditions between Mulifanua and Salelologa their services was closed on Monday and Tuesday, for safety reasons.
