The Public Service Commission has turned over part of the employment file for the former CEO of the Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration (MJCA) Papali’i John Taimalelagi, to the Police after a second warrant was served, which was signed by Acting Chief Justice Vui Clarence Nelson.
This was confirmed by the Acting Police Commissioner Leiataualesa Samuelu Afamasaga in an interview with Radio Polynesia.
This in connection to Papalii’s criminal libel complaint against Loabay media outlet alleging they defamed his character over claims sexual harassment claims, which Loabay insist led to Papalii’s terminations as the Chief Executive Officer.
Afamasaga confirmed this is the second warrant which was signed by the Judge. Adding that there was a certain aspect of the sacked CEO’s file they required to assist with their investigation into his criminal complaint against Loabay.
The Acting Police Commissioner said the files turned over by the PSC will assist with their investigation which should speed up the process.
Radio Polynesia understands the second warrant was signed by Acting Chief Justice Vui Clarence Nelson and was served to the PSC on Friday.
The first warrant was sworn in by Police Constable, Tasi Matafeo and signed by District Court Registrar Tofilau Shamilla Leavai, dated 21 January, 2022 which was not honoured by the PSC.
In earlier reports the Public Service Commissioner Lauano Vaosa Epa told Radio Polynesia, their office has receivedthe first Search Warrant which they were reviewing and validating its content in confidence and then respond accordingly.
