Member of Parliament, Lealailepule Rimoni Aiafi is back in Parliament, this follows his 24 hours of suspension handed down by the Speaker of the House, Li’o Papali’i Taeu Masipa’u after a vote was approved of his removal.

This morning Speaker of the House Li’o Papali’i Taeu Masipa’u said yesterday’s events had gone and they should move forward however their sessions must be conducted in a respectful and peaceful manner.

The Faleata No.3 MP took the floor and apologized to the Speaker of the House and Parliament and noted in his years of service this is the first time he’s been removed from any Parliamentary sitting.

The motion to remove Leala was upon concerns raised by the Speaker of the House, during the session that the MP has been publicly addressing issues that are pending before Parliament in violation of the Standing Orders of Parliament.

This in relation to a report tabled in Parliament of their investigation into the three controversial bills, of the Lands and Titles Court, in which the Legislative Clerk uncovered a number of discrepancies.

The Speaker claims that Leala has publicly laid allegations that the main reason the investigation was launched is to do harm to the Human Rights Protection Party.

However the Speaker said the report is pending before Parliament and cannot be discussed publicly until it is deliberated in Parliament, at a later time.
